1 month, 0 soaks. Size 30 Spikes X001. The denim has really softened up - it's awesome to see how it's molded to my body. The waist has stretched considerably, what was once tight is now a good inch too large. (has happened with all of my denim though, nothing against Railcar). The photo's in this post have never been edited - something that I didn't believe when Alex (my brother the photographer) showed me the pics as the color of the denim looked so vivid. Shooting in overcast low-light conditions really brings out the vibrant blue of the jeans. It looks awesome. Boots are Red Wing's 8134 model. Might do a soak after two months, what do you guys think?

I'd say yes to the soak. I did mine after 1 month...fit improved and the denim ended up darker than before. I've heard other people noticed the weird (but good, depending on your opinion) occurrence.
I did a very hot soak and allowed it to dry while wearing them.

Awesome! When you say the fit improved, did the denim shrink? become skinnier? I'm pretty happy with how it fits through the leg at the moment.

With a full custom build being swamped is understandable Btw cheers for the follow on instagram! ;D I look forward to the reply to my email.

Awesome! When you say the fit improved, did the denim shrink? become skinnier? I'm pretty happy with how it fits through the leg at the moment. The areas that we loose shrunk and the areas that were a lil tight loosened up. So, instead of being tight around the thighs and loose in the calves, it adjusted to just the right feel -- enough to hold to the shape of my legs but not be stretched out by the contours. This was mostly because I let it dry while on and mostly while sitting down in a chair. It would've shrunk as a whole but the tight areas (waist, ass, thighs) kept constant pressure outwards to prevent those areas from shrinking and rather stretching out a little more. Edit: Thoughhh...yours seem to fit fine as there are.

Awesome. I've decided to follow similar to what Steven did - every two months a light soak/hand wash. Yeah since they fit pretty well right now i'm leaning towards a cold soak rather than hot soak - which will hopefully minimise the stretch/shrinkage. I'll decide closer to the time. Thanks jamesbooty3.

Yeah, you can figure it out when the time comes. I just let it flat dry on the counter on a towel.

Would love to see how they've become Good to hear that there's some interest in these. I'm going to do a cold soak after two months (3rd of June). I'll update this thread with some before/during/after photos around then. Check back.

After a couple of months hiatus (i know, i've been extremely lazy) I've decided to rekindle this thread!
In this threads absence my Spikes X001 have undergone two cold water soaks and some much needed de-odorizing (speaking of which, i think it's about time i did it again!). The jeans turned 5 months old last week and i'm putting together a photo set to show their evolution. Expect to see it up later this week.
